We are looking forward to awesome ORPAC NYI Camps at the Kellogg Springs campground this summer and we hope you are too! Our goal in organizing our summer camps is to make camp one of the most formational weeks of your student’s lives. And with that goal in mind, we have selected “Reconnect” as our camp theme this year.

Israel was a nation called by God and blessed so that they could bring the Lord’s blessing to all nations. The people experienced this blessing by connecting to God in a vibrant, faithful and fiercely passionate relationship. But when later generations of Israelites decided to seek after other gods, abandon the Lord and bend their knee to pagan idols, they disconnected. As a result, Israel was conquered by foreign nations and the people lost everything. It was in this time of darkness that the Lord spoke to the prophet Ezekiel, saying,

“For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land. I will sprinkle clean water on you and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow all my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.” (Ezekiel 36:24-27)

In the chaos of life, we can often relate to Israel’s feeling of disconnection from God. It is our hope that camp can provide our teens with an opportunity to reconnect to Lord this summer and we hope to experience that dramatic heart-changing, Spirit-giving transformation that God promised through Ezekiel. Please begin to pray with us as we prepare to seek after the Lord this summer!

For worship services at our Senior High camps this summer, we will be welcoming an engaging team of ORPAC district youth pastors to teach our students how to reconnect to God, to our fellow believers and to our home communities. And at our Junior High camp this summer, we will be welcoming Pastor Jamie Snodgrass to be our speaker. Jamie is a youth ministry veteran, writer and speaker, and now serves as senior pastor at Sandy Church of the Nazarene. We are also blessed to have NNU’s Covenant and Witness joining us for both Senior High Camps and Witness will return for Junior High Camp!

Jarrod Anderson, new youth pastor at Bend First Church of the Nazarene, has agreed to lead recreation for camp this year. We will be planning a variety of new games to go along with paint ball, sand volleyball, swimming, zip line, archery blast, pedal cars, giant swing, dodgeball, sports tournaments and more!
